On April 15th and 16th, twenty-three teams from across the U.S. and one team from Canada travel to the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill to compete in the fourth annual National High School Ethics Bowl.
Congratulations to East Chapel Hill High School (first place), Harvard-Westlake High School (second place), David H. Hickman High School (third place), and Greenhills High School (fourth place). Inspired by the aims and values that govern the National High School Ethics Bowl, the Marc Sanders Foundation is pleased to sponsor prizes of $4,000 per team for the finalists and semi-finalists.
The Bob Ladenson Spirit of the Ethics Bowl Award is given to the team that best embodies the spirit and ideals of the Ethics Bowl, as voted on by other competitors. The 2016 winner is Herron High School from Indiana High School Ethics Bowl.
All of the teams were terrific, as were the judges, moderators, and volunteers who made the weekend a success! This event would not be possible without you! For a glimpse at the Nationals from a participant’s perspective, check out our Storify from the weekend.
The Parr Center for Ethics gratefully acknowledges the generous support of the Squire Family Foundation, UNC College of Arts & Sciences, UNC Undergraduate Admissions, Marc Sanders Foundation, Fenwick Foundation, and the Department of Philosophy.
