2022 North Carolina High School Ethics Bowl
January 29, 2022
The 2022 North Carolina High School Ethics Bowl is scheduled to occur in-person on the campus of UNC-Chapel Hill on January 29, 2022.
As ever, our highest priority remains the health and safety of our participants and their communities. The fundamental objective of the NHSEB program involves equipping students with the tools to become more ethically reflective and engaged members of their moral and civic communities. As such, it is the expectation of the NHSEB Executive Committee that participants across all NHSEB-affiliated events show proper regard for the safety of their fellow participants by complying with all safety protocols implemented by host institutions and the communities they serve. Furthermore, participants are expected to act in accordance with CDC recommendations to mitigate the spread of COVID-19 wherever possible. More information and the latest updates about NHSEB’s COVID-19 response are available at nhseb.unc.edu/covid19.
Detailed COVID-19 protocols for the 2022 NCHSEB, in particular, are being developed in cooperation with Carolina’s public health and safety authorities, and will be released to coaches in full form later this Fall for the sake of planning. The general contours of our policies will follow recommendations currently in place for the campus’s day-to-day operations. A combination of vaccination status attestation and/or PCR testing will be employed to pre-screen all participants. Students and coaches who are not fully vaccinated will be required upon check-in to show a negative PCR test result for COVID-19, administered within 72 hours of the start of the event. Face coverings will be required of all participants while indoors on the UNC campus, regardless of vaccination status. If you foresee obstacles to participation or other challenges for your students, please don’t hesitate to reach out to us at email@example.com.
