The Power of Solidarity: How You and I Can Change the World

How can we transform our unjust world into a new and better one? In particular, how can the victims of injustice—those without money, weapons, or political influence—hope to do so? In this talk I present an account of solidarity from below, the collective ability of otherwise powerless people to bring about transformative social change. I argue that unlocking the power of solidarity requires intersectionality: that is, to act with the understanding that the only way to overcome my struggles is to work with you in overcoming yours.
