April 19, 2022 @ 5:00 pm - 6:30 pm

Drug addiction involves cravings. Why they’re not what you think they are— and why it matters.

Hanna Pickard is a Bloomberg Distinguished Professor of Philosophy and Bioethics at Johns Hopkins University. Her interdisciplinary research often explores philosophical questions that arise out of clinical practice and related sciences. In philosophy she specializes in philosophy of mind, philosophy of psychiatry, moral psychology and clinical ethics. Prior to joining Hopkins, she was a Fellow of All Souls College at the University of Oxford for two decades, and she worked for ten years at the Oxfordshire Complex Needs Service, an NHS specialist service for people with personality disorders and complex needs.
