Graduate Fellowship Program

The Parr Center Graduate Fellows are an interdisciplinary cohort of Carolina graduate and professional students with an interest in ethics drawn from across UNC Chapel Hill’s diverse community of scholars. The program provides Fellows with an opportunity to work and collaborate with researchers and practitioners outside of their home academic units, meet and engage with exciting visiting speakers at dinner and lunch events, and get involved with the Parr Center’s extensive docket of public-facing outreach programs.

Some key benefits of becoming a Parr Center Graduate Fellow:

  • membership in an engaged community of scholars and practitioners thinking and working on fascinating ethical issues, ethics and civics education, and more
  • invitation for periodic meet-ups to talk ethics over coffee, meals, or drinks near the Chapel Hill campus
  • priority invitation for meals and meetings with the Center’s invited guest speakers each semester
  • invitation to participate in a WIP Workshop on Fellows’ ongoing research projects (usually held each Spring semester)
  • opportunities to present at conferences and events organized or sponsored by the Center
  • multiple opportunities to get involved with the Center’s award winning National High School Ethics Bowl as competition judges, case writers, and more
  • opportunities to assist with local and regional ethics outreach initiatives with K-12 students, retirees, and other community members
  • access to funds to organize and host dedicated Graduate Fellow events
