Welcome to the Team!

The Parr Center for Ethics is very excited to announce and welcome our two new new staff members: Event Coordinator, Jordan Lifer and NHSEB Director, Alex Richardson!

Jordan received a BA in Economics and Political Science with a minor in History from UNC-Chapel Hill in 2019. She is now working as the Events Coordinator for the Department of Philosophy, Parr Center for Ethics, and PPE Program. Jordan is particularly interested in the philosophy of politics and law, and she is excited to learn more about these fields while working alongside the wonderful staff and faculty in the department.

Alex comes to us from Knoxville, Tennessee, where he has been a Ph.D. student at the University of Tennessee. His research interests are in ethics and political philosophy, and he is currently writing a dissertation on the nature of political resistance and its relation to democratic ideals of civility.

In addition to his doctoral work, Alex taught undergraduate philosophy courses at UT, and was the 2019 recipient of the John Hardwig Prize for Teaching Excellence. He is also former Assistant Director of the Tennessee High School Ethics Bowl, and has been very involved in that regional program throughout his time in graduate school.

We are incredibly lucky to have both Jordan and Alex on our team. Please help us welcome them!
